Management

Glenn-Ole Kaasa
CEO
Comes from position as leader of dept. of Intelligent Drilling in Statoil R&D, and is currently Adjunct Associate Professor on adaptive control systems at Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). Has been responsible for Statoil’s research on managed pressure drilling (MPD) technology, and Hydro’s research on production optimisation. He has also been central in establishing NTNU’s research on pressure control for drilling.
Martin Culen
CCO and Partner
Martin has over 29 years of energy industry experience specializing in Underbalanced and Managed Pressure Drilling.  Prior to joining Kelda as Chief Commercial Officer, he was a Principal with Blade Energy Partners, Director of Blade Energy’s offices in Dubai.  
Geir Arne Evjen
Chief Technology Officer and Partner
Comes from a position as principal researcher in Statoil R&D. Background from process modelling, multiphase flow, fluids and flow-assurance. Has been system architect in several R&D projects on advanced software for estimation and data reconciliation. M.Sc. in chemical engineering; about to finish PhD in thermodynamics. Expert in thermodynamics, optimization, data communication, and programming. Partner and full-time employee.
Pål Jacob Nessjøen
Chief Operating Officer and Partner
B.Sc. in automation (HiST) and M.Sc. degree in engineering cybernetics (NTNU). Main focus on system integration, deployment, and operation. Expert on drilling control systems, instrumentation, data acquisition, configuration, and interface to rig equipment and HMI.

Senior Drilling Advisor MPD/UBD at Shell UK and acting MPD Subject Matter Expert for Shell Global Technology. Specialist with unique competence and operational experience from state of the art MPD and UBD projects worldwide. Mary Strack
Control System Engineer
Holds a Bachelors of Science in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M University. Based in Houston, TX, her main focus is on the integration and commissioning of control systems.
Ole Magnus Brastein
R&D Manager
Received PhD in parameter estimation and Machine Learning (2020), Master degree in Systems and Control engineering (2016) and Bachelor in electronics (2004). Industrial R&D background since 2004 in a wide range of projects, from hardware/instrumentation, to software engineering and embedded systems. Has a wide range of interests, from software design and development, machine learning, artificial intelligence, estimation algorithms, and the creative R&D process.
Christian Bratli
Lead R&D Engineer
M.Sc. degree in Engineering Cybernetics from NTNU in 2005 and has since dedicated his career to research and development. His work spans various industries, including control systems in the automotive sector. Condition monitoring, logging and MPD in the energy industry, and system development and integration in the welfare sector. Have worked several years as an Implementation Specialist in Statoil’s research on managed pressure drilling (MPD) technology.

Engineering Degree in Mechatronics from University of São Paulo (USP). As a lead developer, he contributes to the architecture, development and quality assurance of cutting-edge web applications.
Icaro Ostan
R&D Engineer
M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering (USP) within dynamical systems and mechatronics. Background from several projects, including certification of control system components of aircraft engines; interaction control and haptic interfaces. Currently works on R&D projects involving modelling, simulation, estimation algorithms and software development.
Fatemeh Vosoughi Kordkandi
R&D engineer
Holds a Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Politecnico di Torino, Italy, with a thesis on CML technology at NTNU, Norway. Main focus includes testing Leidar platforms, managing licenses for Leidar applications, running Leidar applications in labs, and troubleshooting application issues.
Ayrton dos Reis Silva
Senior Software Engineer
Engineering Degree in Mechatronics from University of São Paulo (USP), with joint studies in Computer Science and Web Development at California State University (CSU, Chico). As a lead developer, he contributes to the architecture, development and quality assurance of cutting-edge web applications.
Marcela Martins Cicilio
Lead R&D Engineer
Engineering degree in Control and automation from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) with additional studies on its application in the oil and gas sector. Background from different projects working with HIL-testing of offshore control systems, focusing on functional and safety features. Currently, she contributes to coordinating the development, assisting with quality assurance and client support for web applications.

Received his M.Sc. in science and executive engineering at Grande école Mines ParisTech (ENSMP) in the summer 2017. Background from several R&D projects involving hydraulics modelling, software development, control and mechanical system design in both academic and corporate environments.
Florinda Zeida
Senior UX/UI Designer
With a Bachelor's degree in Geology and specialized studies in Front End Development and UX/UI Design, she brings valuable expertise to the Leidar platforms, enhancing their user experience and contributing to its ongoing evolution.
Felipe Fabricio
R&D engineer
M.Sc in Electrical Enginering and Industrial Computing (UTFPR), with a background in robotics and automation. Currently is mostly involved in the optimization of the Leidar platforms, development of R&D innovations and hardware configuration.
Nima Janatian
R&D Engineer
Holds a PhD in Process Energy and Automation Engineering from USN. During his PhD, he specialized in mathematical optimization and advanced model-based control algorithms under uncertainty, including robust model predictive control, and real-time optimization with applications to energy systems. Coming from a Mechanical Engineering background, he contributes to the R&D projects focusing on mathematical modelling, control, and simulation.
Tarek El-Agroudi
R&D Engineer
Received his M.Sc. in Cybernetics and Robotics from NTNU in 2024, with a focus on guidance, navigation and control (GNC). Currently pursuing an industrial PhD in collaboration with the departement of Engineering Cybernetics at NTNU, focusing on adaptive and robust control for systems with distributed flow dynamics. Full-time employee.

M.Sc in Data Science (Aberystwyth University), and is mostly involved in the optimization of the Leidar platforms and development of R&D innovations with focus on software design and simulation.
